A Henry, Tennessee native, Dr. Bobby Jones is a Grammy award winning singer, author and television host residing in Nashville. An alum of Tennessee State University (B.S. and M.Ed), Vanderbilt University (Ed.D) and Payne’s Theological Seminary (Th.D), Ambassador Bobby Jones has also taught at a secondary and collegiate level. Jones began his television career in 1976, when Nashville station WSM-TV (now WSMV) gave him a slot on the Sunday morning schedule with Nashville Gospel, a show that continued for nearly 25 years. Jones has, also, produced programs for, national television network, BET since 1980. In addition to his work for BET, Jones produced and hosted a similar half-hour program for WDCN-TV (now WNPT), Nashville’s public television outlet, during the early 1980s. Leader of The Nashville Super Choir, Jones has decided to end his long running weekly program, Bobby Jones Gospel, after 35 years.
