Anthony Radford has been an arts curator for more than three decades, and was honored in 2017 for creating “Meet The Artist”. He also serves as curator and host of the event. It’s held each February through March. “Meet The Artist” is sponsored by the central library. The show attracts artists from around the world and serves as a showcase for their talent. It is produced in a packed house and attendance is free. Each year a major highlight is a fashion show that spotlights upcoming designers. Anthony creates abstract artworks using shape, form, color, and line to create interesting, non-realistic compositions. He makes these works as paintings or three-dimensional sculptures (including an assemblage of found, recycled, or reclaimed objects.) Anthony utilizes a wide variety of media sources, including acrylic paint, oil, mixed-media, metal, plastic, glass, natural elements, wood, textile – fiber, paper, and other materials. He’s been an Indianapolis Art Instructor for over twenty years, and facilitates “Children’s Workshops” and “Artist Residencies,” where youth learn basic elements of creating mixed-media artwork and crafts.
